Fall Leisure Guide Available on September 7

The Fall Recreation and Leisure Guide will be released in the Lubbock Avalanche Journal in Lubbock and Lubbock County on Sunday, September 7.  Copies will be available online and in Parks and Recreation on Monday, September 8.  To receive a copy by mail,  call 775-2685 or email nneill@mylubbock.us.

 

No Arboretum Water Garden Tour This Year

The Lubbock Memorial Arboretum will not be hosting their annual water garden tour this year.  They hope to offer an event later this fall.

 

Lubbock Senior Games - August 13-16, 2008

The Lubbock Senior Games is an open event for individuals age 50+ and is sanctioned by the Texas Senior Games Association.  Seniors compete in various events including: Golf, Tennis, Swimming, Basketball, Track/ Field and Bowling.  The top five places in each age group for each event will qualify for the 2008 Texas Senior Games. Sponsors and volunteers needed! Call the Lubbock Senior Center at 767-2710 to receive a registration packet.

Pool Closings

Maxey and Simmons pools last day open will be Sunday, August 10.  Clapp and Montelongo Pools last day open will be Sunday, August 17.  Thanks to everyone for a great pool season!

 

K-9 SplashFest - August 17, 2008 1-5 pm

Contests, Prizes and Fun!  What a better way to celebrate our dogs than to give them their own Play Day at Clapp Pool $1.50/Child, $2/Adult  Dogs Free! Click here for more information!

 

Lake Alan Henry 2008 Annual Passes Available

Come by the Parks and Recreation Office and purchase your 2008 Lake Alan Henry annual passes for individuals, families and boats.  Also available at Grubs and Entrance Gate.  Parks Office: 1010 9th Street   M-F 8 am-5 pm.
